A good hat needs no explanation. Knowing where the work went is still worth something.
An open knit lets heat rise out through the crown, while a short angular brim tightens the line of the face. A short brim keeps your field of view open; an angled one squares up the horizontal of the face. That pairing is why the casquette has held its place for the best part of a century.
The knit is blended with cotton so it will not sag, and it folds softly in the hand and comes back when you let go. All five colourways are desaturated on purpose, so the hat never competes with what you are wearing. Light beige and white sit on summer linen, sky on denim, black anywhere at all.
