BrandTae (態) is the shape a person cuts and the air they carry with it. For us a cap is not an accessory — it is the full stop at the end of that sentence.
Name
It names the difference between two people wearing the same clothes. You cannot buy it; it comes out of proportion, and the last thing you put on usually decides it. That last thing is what TAEGA makes.

The last thing you put on
“A good hat does not draw the eye. It lifts the person wearing it.”

Principles
Three standards
Every decision at TAEGA passes these three sentences before it becomes a product.
We argue over a centimetre
A hat sits directly above the face. A centimetre deeper in the crown shortens the jawline; a centimetre longer in the brim spreads the eye sideways. Heads differ, so the ratio between crown depth and brim length is reset from scratch for every silhouette.
The front is not the end of it
A hat designed only from the front collapses at a passing angle. Side patch, rear embroidery, inner label, the finish on the sweatband — the places you do not see are what decide the worth of something you keep.
Not for a display case
If it cannot take sweat, wind and the bottom of a bag, it is not a hat. Folded and pulled back out with its shape intact; a season on and the colour still alive. That is the direction TAEGA means by luxury.
Making
In summer the work is opening a path for the wind; in the all-year line it is calculating how fast a colour is allowed to fade. Washing is not a process for removing colour but for laying the cotton grain down, and embroidery only throws a shadow if an extra underlay goes in first. One piece on the outside, a stack of those decisions behind it.
