A good hat needs no explanation. Knowing where the work went is still worth something.
The yarn is spun from paper, which takes damp well, and only once the layers are stacked does the brim stand straight. One layer folds, three go heavy; most of the work on this piece was finding the point between them. A detachable stopper strap sits under the chin so your hand never goes up to your head in a sea breeze.
Take the strap off when you do not need it and the visor's own line is left intact. The metal logo patch on the front is sized not to shout — only the sheen of it is doing any work. Two colourways: one bright, one severe.
